A Dazzling dream wedding showcase

May 16, 2016
Couples were inspired by a preview of new bridal gowns by Vera Wang, the first Tiffany & Co.-themed wedding presentation and the first Blue.-themed Afternoon Tea in Thailand.

Saturday 14 May 2016

The Peninsula Bangkok presented a spectacular Wedding Showcase on Saturday, 14 May 2016. Couples planning their special day enjoyed exclusive previews of exquisite bridal gowns and jewellery, plus a Blue.-themed Afternoon Tea. Guests were able to view the numerous creative themes and banquet venues offered at The Peninsula Bangkok, and enjoy alluring extra privileges for couples that booked their marriage celebration at the event and paid with a Krungsri Credit Card.

Highlights of the 2016 Wedding Showcase included the first Tiffany & Co.-themed wedding presentation at Jesters, a gallery-inspired venue that hosts magical marital celebrations. Jesters was decorated in the signature Tiffany blue, and couples were able to peruse a stunning collection of jewellery, as well as an exquisite wedding cake which resembled a Tiffany & Co. gift box.

At the event, Tiffany & Co. shared the making of a legend – the Tiffany Setting - which is a revered icon of true love. From the moment the Tiffany Setting was introduced in 1886, founder Charles Lewis Tiffany made sure experts presented the special qualities of the ring and the centre stone to each client, honouring the importance of a diamond engagement ring purchase. In 2016, it has taken centre stage for a celebration honouring its 130 years as the world’s most famous engagement ring. The legendary engagement ring was presented at the Wedding Showcase, and guests enjoyed going through its history and embracing its trust, integrity and craftsmanship.

Vera Wang, the New York-born wedding designer for celebrities and VIPs, also showcased a spring 2016 collection of bridal gowns direct from Singapore. Meanwhile, guests at The Lobby savoured a Tiffany & Co.-themed Afternoon Tea, plus a fashion presentation of models wearing Vera Wang’s wedding designs. Inspired by a journey to Spain, the designer has taken slinky silhouettes to the next level with super-sheer lace fabrics. Established in 1990, Vera Wang is a formidable name in bridal wear. Her bridal gowns are known for their fashion esthetics, and the spring 2016 collection reflected this design concept well, and can be translated into the beauty, freedom, mystery and allure of Spain.

Jimmy Choo also introduced their bridal shoe collection designed exclusively for The Peninsula Bangkok, called Storm and Rox. There are 386 Swarovski crystals on one pair of Storm, and 342 crystals on each pair of Rox. These shoes come in 10 different shapes.

Thai tradition meets contemporary wedding elegance at The Peninsula Bangkok, and the annual Wedding Showcase is a dazzling spectacle that has inspired the dreams of couples since 2007. The hotel’s selection of wedding venues lends an intimate ambience to elaborate banquets in the ballroom or a romantic evening of fine food, wine and dancing under the stars in the enchanting riverside garden. A dedicated team of wedding planners elevates expectations to new heights, from picture-perfect floral arrangements, to a theatrical entrance in a romantic riverboat or vintage Rolls-Royce, and a colourful fireworks display above the river.

This year The Peninsula Bangkok brought together wedding elegance, luxury jewellery and fashion and creative dining experiences in order to inspire couples to create one of the most memorable events of their life.
