Celebrate All Things French for Peninsula Debut

July 19, 2014
Celebrate All Things French for Peninsula Dubut
The Peninsula Bangkok has joined other Peninsula hotels around the world to celebrate the opening of The Peninsula Paris in August, offering an array of Gallic experiences for guests in its “All Things French” campaign.

As the top-rated luxury hotel brand marks its début into Europe, The Peninsula Bangkok embraces the long tradition and culture of France in its own unique way, hosting a number of dining, fashion and beauty events in the Thai capital.

French-inspired fashion meets Thai designers

Fashion inevitably springs to mind when France – the land of designers Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Jean Paul Gaultier – is mentioned. The Peninsula Bangkok honours the country that invented haute couture by celebrating Thailand’s own burgeoning fashion designers.

The French-inspired fashion meets Thai designers runway show was held during the “All Things French” Fashion Weekend on 19 and 20 July 2014. It featured 30 leading local fashion brands débuting their new collections. They also showcased exclusive, French-inspired clothes and accessories, tailored especially for the celebratory weekend.

As part of the weekend, students from leading fashion schools paid homage to the impeccable French style by hosting a runway show at The Peninsula Bangkok on 19 July 2014. The show featured 12 outfits, with the winning design by Ms Siripim Poolsombat, a student from Chulalongkorn University, who received a luxurious two-night stay in the hotel’s Peninsula Suite, with meals and a spa treatment included.
